Self - Reflection: Final Report Card
As the semester comes to a close, I feel a need to reflect about how much I have evolved as a leader as well as a person. Most of this post will be my thinking about personal growth with a variety of examples of different experiences that we had during this class which included a variety of environmental stewardship initiatives, humanitarian projects and acts of leadership around our community. Furthermore, I will not cover every detail in this post as I have already explained a majority of this on my Legacy Project.

When I had started this class, I had very general ideas about what I wanted to accomplish over the course of this five months. I did not have any goals that really wanted to accomplish by the class so I came to class every day ready with an open mind. This would mean that I was willing to participate about everything whether it would be volunteer work or simple activities that I wanted to do. Therefore, I would normally be one of the few who would be willing to be the first followers.
However as soon as I felt I was comfortable acting naturally in front of my peers, I found myself easier to be excited and proud of the fact that I can volunteer to help the community. This would also mean that I bring an positive attitude in class everyday and I would also help break the awkwardness during some situations. I am personally very proud and happy about my growth as a leader over the course of the semester.

Now, I know that fact that anyone can be a leader. The only difference that separates the leaders and the followers is the will the act against the fear of being judged. Everybody has the same ability to be an individual that can change how people think about certain things and they can become a role model in people's eyes. I personally think that the main thing that a leader must be is passionate as they would need to be interested in a topic before they have others follow their example. A leader must truly believe in what they do otherwise, I would not consider them a true leader.
Overall, I believe that I deserve an A (99%) due to my growth as a leader and as an individual who will most likely continue down this path of giving back.

ReplyDeleteRene. Please post your legacy here on your blog because more than anyone else in the class, you were able to articulate the evolution of the class dynamic over the course of the semester. The fact that you were able to take the class temperature throughout speaks to your integral role as a key member. "The only difference that separates the leaders and the followers is the will the act against the fear of being judged." You nail it here Rene and it was evident on countless occasions that you have overcome that fear in the name of action for the greater good. Stay involved with your extra-curriculars Rene. You make Sulli a better place.
