Social and Emotional Report

Social and Emotional Report

Our social and emotional support sharing helped me see how I am perceived by my peers. According to a majority of my peers, my main talent that contributes to the class is my positive attitude and my willingness to participate. Apparently, I help lighten the mood of the class with my bright personality and I bring diversity to the class in an optimistic way. My peers acknowledge that I help others feel more relaxed in the class. I am also said to have demonstrated my capabilities as a leader in certain volunteer opportunities and they mentioned that I have a wonderful attitude towards everything I do. Furthermore, they said that I was talkative which helps in group discussions. I managed to learn a lot about myself with the help of my classmates.

Self Assessment - Interim Reports

Self Assessment - Interim Reports

It has almost been two months since the start of the semester and the start of Community Leadership. It has been quite entertaining and incredible how far I have advanced as an individual and as a leader as well as acknowledging growing leaders  in the class. Throughout the duration of the course, I began to achieve an understanding about where my interests are directed upon and where to direct my capabilities. Undoubtedly, I have grown as a leader and I have also learned a lot from my peers. This class has helped me in terms of finding opportunities that I can use my abilities as an individual to help the greater community. Mainly I am focusing on the school community at present as I believe that it is much easier and effective to help the growing generation understand the importance of giving without receiving.

Respecting Others, Ourselves, and the Opinions of Everyone

I think that I have been quite respectful in a general sense of others and myself. At times I may seem quite too enthusiastic in an activity, but I think that the class needs more dynamic. Near the beginning of the course, all of my classmates were very shy and quiet which prompted me to be one of the first dynamic personality to break out of my comfort zone. In group activities, I am very considerate to other people's opinions and ideas and I listen to them thoroughly and ensure that everyone can get their ideas out. As I am a very open-minded individual, I have very little difficulty in respecting everyone's different opinions about certain subjects as I believe that difference can be used for discussions and evolution.

Individuality and Being Able to Express Ourselves Freely

Clearly, I am a person who has absolutely no problem expressing my own opinions about certain matters. I would like to believe that I have brought my own dynamic to the class over the course of two months. Community Leadership offers millions of opportunities to speak one's mind and I find it quite refreshing in the sense that it allows the students to have the power in the classroom; not the teacher. Even so, in the community in general, I think that there are tons of opportunities to express personal opinions if people actually sought to do so. I am greatly against anyone shutting down another due to different views.

Creating and Maintaining a Safe and Positive Environment

Maintaining and creating a safe and positive environment has become a habit of mine. It has become second nature to ensure safety and optimism within any sort of setting as it is necessary in order to create an efficient and calm area. People will only relax and not be so tense if they feel safe and welcome to certain areas as it will always be in human nature to adjust. I think that I have been doing a good job on this aspect in terms of allowing others to feel relaxed and safe.

Keeping a Tenacious Nature About our Passions

Although I just really like the word "tenacious," I have a much deeper level of understanding for this prompt. As far as I can tell, this generation has loss and therefore lack the motivation to continue or start a difficult task. Laziness has been a growing factor in all children everywhere which, in turn, has affected the things that we could have achieved. At times, I begin to feel too lazy to do something as well, but I will normally work against it and finish it anyways. I think that I am very adept in being tenacious and working hard since I know that it is a driving force in terms of completion and I want to see the same attitude in a majority of my other peers in the future.

Providing Others with Similar Opportunities as Our Own

Opportunities are something that everyone seems to take for granted, me included. After watching Malala's speech towards the United Kingdom, I have realized how much I have taken for granted and how grateful I should be. Opportunities in Canada are nothing like the opportunities in less fortunate countries. Therefore, I believe that it is not just about allowing residents of our community to help and be a part of this growing foundation, but it is also to allow others to experience daily tasks in our daily lives. I think that I am very considerate to others in terms of opportunities where I focus on which is the Sullivan Heights community. I encourage others to join clubs and sports teams in the school so they can be informed as well as guided to make the community a safer and more entertaining environment for them to be in.

Overall, I believe that my Work Habits should be a G.
